Hi, I'm Jes!

Welcome to Inner Balance Energy &
thanks for joining me on this journey.

I am a lot of titles:
Mom, business owner, horse girl, hobby farmer, significant other, co- parent, daughter, sister, board member, teacher and so on.
But mostly I am a soul that is here to experience being human.
When I realized this my journey as student, then teacher, then back to
( forever ) student, really began.

In my life I've done the depression dance and anxiety battle.
I've tried medication that ended up making me not feel like me, and talked to therapists that made our discussions seem really open ended ( this for me was really frustrating. I've seen these used as tools and work for many but they just were not working for me ).
And I got left with "the list".
You know "the list" .. the things you're supposed to do if you want to come out ahead within your mental, emotional, and physical well being. Yeah, that "list".

One day in the throws of really bad anxiety that was building into a panic attack
I grabbed hold of that "list" and I thought to myself
"I want to work this out. I need to move. Everything inside me feels too fast. This 'too much' energy needs to be released."
I had already been casually practicing yoga , so I went for yoga.
I got on YouTube and clicked on the first video that surfaced.
A one pose challenge.
In that ONE pose. Mountain pose. Everything inside me shifted.
Something changed in those 10 minutes of cues and posture.
I cried.  I was shaking and I felt like my heart opened to let loose all the things I needed to leave to make space for receiving the things I desired and deserved.
That was my Ah-Ha! moment.

I didn't need to white knuckle through "the list" anymore.
I found and understood energy which lead me into a deep-dive student mode that I have since never left.
After a decade I decided I needed to teach, share, help others discover the path that will lead them to the discovery of their own energy and soul self.
To discover fulfillment during this human experience. Which is how my partnership with Shayla blossomed and
Inner Balance Energy
was born!

Who am I?
What a loaded question.
If you are anything like me, the go to response was;
I'm a mom of 3, a wife and a nurse.
I love being a mom, wife and a nurse (most of the time) but why is this what defines me?
Those are roles, and I am more than that!

I was lost in my roles, on top of that, I was depressed, anxious and unhappy.

Depression has been my friend for many years now - having kids young, navigating through a nasty divorce and custody battles, working long hours.
It just seemed to be my normal. So, while these feelings were not new to me, what was new was that my daughter, who is now a teen, was also depressed.

She was my tipping point to figure out how the hell to care for myself and be in a better spot. I didn’t know what to do or how to help. I wasn’t okay, so how do I help her be ok? It was then I realized
I HAD to make the time.
I HAD to figure out how to help myself.


This brought me to meds, which brought me to therapy and journaling.
Then reiki, which led to meditation, yoga and breath work.
Coming from a healthcare/science background, energy healing, breathing and "sitting in silence" seemed like farfetched ways to help
- but the more I learned and practiced, the more I really began to believe.

Overtime, I found that just 10 mins a day with these modalities helped in ways I couldn’t describe. But I knew I needed that time, I craved it, and it always helped start my day out right.
I now have tools that I use on auto pilot.
Things still get hard, but I find myself growing, improving and handling each situation a little better than the last.
My creativity has resurfaced. I have started new hobbies that bring me joy.
And if you ask me who I am now - I might not even mention my roles 🙂

I also found that helping others learn what I have learned feeds my soul and energizes me like I never have been before.

to reset your mind, reconnect to your spirit and realign your bodies.
I challenge you to try our classes, retreats, or healing modalities.
They might seem weird or aren't your jam, but give it a try before you write it off. While this might not be for you, on the journey you just might find what is.
